Ruth Parker Ferguson

Ruth Parker Ferguson, 92, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 17, 2017. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a charter member of The Living Praise Assembly of God Church, where in the past was very involved in several church activities. Ruth had enjoyed gardening, sewing, spending time with her friends from church and caring for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mamie Parker, her husband, Willie C. Ferguson; two sons, Richard Ferguson and Robert "Clifford" Ferguson; one daughter, Lois Riner; four sisters; and two brothers.

Ruth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and John Carson, Buffalo, Iowa; and her son and daughter-in-law, Willie (Junior) and Diane Ferguson of Kingsport; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Agee.

The family will receive friends Friday (December 22, 2017) from 11 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Yates officiating.

Burial will follow the service at East Tennessee Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
