Ruth Virginia Sine of Kingsport died Thursday, February 15, 2007, at her home.
She was born in Scott County, Virginia, on May 24, 1910, and was a loving wife and mother. She married Charles A. Sine Jr. on November 4, 1939, and was married to him for 76 years, 3 months, and 12 days. Ruth was an active member and Sunday School teacher at Bethel Presbyterian Church beginning in 1941.
Preceding her in death were her father and mother, Houston Hurd and Eliza D. Hurd; a sister, Gladys E. Banner; three half-brothers, Denny F. Carter of the home, George Hurd and Lucien Hurd; three half-sisters, Bert Wax, Lula Custer, and Cornelia Collier.
Surviving are her husband, Charles A. Sine Jr., Kingsport; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cameron, Conner, GA; one son, Charles D. ?Bud? Sine and wife, Grace Anna of Cookeville, TN; eight grandchildren, Lydia Faulkner, William R. Cameron, Suzanne Cameron, Christopher Cameron, Dolly Drawdy, Polly Wehmann, Chuck Sine, and Pamela Degges; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Jill Quinley, who has been like a daughter; and other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
The memorial service for Ruth Sine will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gary Bement officiating. The family will receive friends before the service and immediately following the service at the church.
