Sadie Speer

Sadie Templeton Speer, 89, Kingsport, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Scott County, Virginia, she lived in Kingsport more than 70 years and was a nurse at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center for more than 40 years. Sadie was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emily and Luther Templeton; and brother, Milam Templeton.

Sadie is survived by her husband of 70 years, Solomon C. "Pete" Speer of Kingsport; daughter, Jo Clark-Moody and husband James W. Moody of Kingsport; grandson, Jonathan Clark and wife, Rebecca of Kingsport; great-grandson, Garrett Clark; sister, Wanda Morgan, Winston Salem, NC. A special thank you to Norman Mowell and Mary Frances Stanford.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Ron Davis officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
