Sammy Richard Jones

Sammy Richard "Sam" Jones, 61, of Limestone Community passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at his home.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and the son of Samuel Paul "Rocky" Jones of Limestone and the late Mary Ruth Hayes Jones.

Sam was a farmer and the owner/operator of Jones Hunting Preserve.

He loved his family, friends, hunting dogs, horses, cattle and the telling of a good joke.

In addition to his mother, Sam was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Paul Jones.

Survivors in addition to his father, include one son, Mark Aaron Jones and wife Missy of Kingsport; a special stepdaughter, Vicki Martin; one grandson, Josh Frye; one sister, Judy Lorraine Webb of Nashville; one sister-in-law, Wanda Jones, Fall Branch; numerous nieces and nephews; and close personal friends, George Rowland and Bobby Myers.

Visitation and Celebration of Sam's life will be held from noon to three p.m. and from five until nine p.m. Sunday at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Anderson and Pastor Parker Street officiating.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Limestone, TN.

Pallbearers will be Steve Collins, Dan Brandt, Joe Byrd, Eddie Williams, Chris Pendola, Terrance Bailiff, John Shelton and Jackie Adams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Keplinger, Bill Jenkins, Perry Dykes, J.L. Baines, Bill Hurd, Steve Wallace, Mike Coffey, Gary Atkins, and numerous other friends at the National Shoot to Retrieve Association.

Memorial Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 208 Sunset Drive, Suite 113, Johnson City, TN 37604.
