Samuel Burl Richards
Samuel "Burl" Richards, 82, of Bloomingdale Community, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010. He was born and raised in Westview Community. He was of the Apostolic faith. Burl loved to go on cruises.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Harrison Richards and Sallie Catherine Webb Richards, and a brother and three sisters.
Burl is survived by a brother, J. B. Richards, of Dublin, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will follow at 8:00, with Rev. Will Shewey officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m., at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Denzil Richards, David Richards, Damon Richards, Tommy Carter, Ted Tipton, Stephen Riley, Perry Dalton, and Kenneth Dalton.
