Sandra Parker Byington, 61, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord at 9:28 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009, after a courageous battle and extended illness. Sandra was born in Kingsport where she resided for most of her life.
Sandra was loved by all and never knew a stranger. She was a Christian mother who loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Bobby Parker; mother Lois Hensley; father, Eckel Hensley; and Roy Byington.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy McClain of Kingsport; sons Robert Parker, Randy Parker, Kenny Stump and wife Louanna, and Michael Stump and wife Jessica, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Tiffany Simonton, Brittany Davis, Haley McClain, Destiny Stump, Austin McClain, Devon Stump, Brady Stump, and Mason Stump; great-granddaughter, Keira Simonton and an unborn great-granddaughter, Alliyah Simonton; sisters Sheila Moore and husband Vic of Lilburn, GA; Sharon Pollock of Peachtree City, GA, Anne Newman of Marietta, GA, and Sadie McGrew of Atlanta, GA; brother, Calvin Hensley of Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Johnny Gibson officiating. Friends may call anytime on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the home of Sandra's son, Michael Stump, at 253 Camby Drive in Kingsport.
Burial will be on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Justin Adams, Chris Hicks, Shane Mahoney, Jamie Kemp, Randy McClain, Marcus Simonton, and Pete Hensley.
