Miss Sandra Leigh Ellis, 58, Kingsport, entered into rest Sunday November 15, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born March 5, 1951, and lived her entire life in Kingsport. She was a graduate of both Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1969 and of Whitney Business College. She worked in numerous medical offices as a medical transcriptionist.
Sandra was a lifelong member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Franklin Ellis, Sr. and her mother, Bonnie Ellis.
Surviving are her brother, Dr. Franklin Ellis and wife, Diana, Kingsport; nephew, Elijah Ellis, Kingsport; aunt, Mrs. Madeline Snead, Richmond, VA; and several cousins.
The family will only be receiving friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jack P. Weikel officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be the First Broad Street United Methodist Church Sunday School Class singles or church members.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Gideon's International.
