Sandra Hensley

Sandra Louise Green Hensley, 47, of Kingsport, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.

Sandra was born in Kingsport where she resided and was a 1981 Sullivan North graduate. She was a registered nurse, graduating from the College of Nursing at ETSU. Sandra worked at Indian Path Medical Center and Wellmont HVMC prior to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in 1995. Sandra had attended Calvary Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Sandra was an avid animal lover and caregiver touching the lives of many.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Dunn Whaley of Kingsport and companion, Michelle; son, Kurtis Hensley of Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Dylan Whaley, Tyler Whaley; sister, Suzanne Gilliam of Rogersville; brother, David Hawk of Asheville, NC; special nieces, Becky Kaywood and Christy Kaywood of Kingsport along with several other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport with visitation following the service.
