Ann Low Cox, 79, of Kingsport died early Wednesday morning, February 4, 2009, at her home after a period of declining health.
Born in Roanoke, Virginia, she had resided in Kingsport since the mid 1940's.
She had been a secretary prior to becoming a mother and homemaker for her family. Ann was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church and had served as a volunteer for the auxiliary of Holston Valley Medical Center.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Bertha Low; a son-in-law, Jim Stone; and a great grandson, Gage King.
Surviving are her husband, John I. Cox; one son, Carl Cox and wife Patricia; two daughters, Beverly Stone, Martha Kilgore and husband Steve; five grandchildren, Kelly Shelton, Kristi Kilgore, Whitney Stone, Nick Kilgore, Ben Cox; eight great-grandchildren, River, Raleigh, Raegan, Delaney, Lief, Carter, Owen, Gabriel; one sister, Sue Greene and children; one brother, Ted Low and wife Beulah and children; caregiver and friend, Lois Smith; and grand-dog, Chance.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Funke and Care Central.
Family graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. A. Clark Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the church.
