Sarah Maude Hash, 95, of Kingsport, went into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at her residence with her family by her side.
Sarah was born on March 21, 1915, in Hawkins County, TN, to Joseph and Minnie Nelms. She lived most of her life in Sullivan County. She was a member of Arcadia Presbyterian Church, and loved to read her Bible and tell others of the love of Jesus. Sarah loved her family and loved to take care of them. She was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, friend, and aunt, and an inspiration to all who knew her.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James W. Hash; three of her daughters, Ruby Hash, Helen Salling, and Hazel Christian; and a son, Samuel Hash.
She is survived by two daughters, Edna Hash, of the home, and Reba Good and husband, Randall, of Church Hill; and two sons, Joe Hash and wife, Janet, of Church Hill, and Jerry Hash of the home; son-in-law, Johnny Christian; grandchildren, Vanessa Christian, Ricky Good, Jason Hash, Joshua Hash, Donna Akins, Sam Good, Cody Good; great-grandchildren, Wesley Christian, Brandon Carter, Travis Good, Heather Good, Leeann Good, Timothy Good, Emilee Hash; great-great-grandchildren, Jared Cox, Jordan Cox, and Abby Good.
The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening and anytime at the home. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. John Irwin and Rev. Gary Gerhardt officiating, and church members providing music.
Interment will follow at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Christian, Brandon Carter, Jason Hash, Sam Good, Cody Good, and Richard McCann. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Newland, Steve Johnson, Perry Carter, Paul Johnson, Ken Strickland, and Hoyt Woodward.
