Sarah Kae Briggs, 24, Kingsport, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 17, 2018 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Sarah accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of seven. She realized that she was a sinner and that Christ died on the cross to pay for her sins. She understood and believed the promise of God when He said, "Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Her faith in this Scripture promise gave her great peace and enabled her to face death without fear.
From the time of her salvation, Sarah desired to serve the Lord. She felt God was calling her to be a missionary or a pastor's wife. In preparation for a life of serving the Lord, she started playing the violin at an early age, worked with disabled children, taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery, was involved with the church choir and orchestra, went on mission trips, attended Crown College of the Bible, and became a CNA. She loved helping and serving others.
She was excited about being in her own house for the first time and loved being an aunt to Caidence and Nolan.
Sarah is survived by her parents, Darron and Bobbi Briggs; her brothers, Jeremiah and Aaron; her sister, Amie (Briggs) Johnson; her niece and nephew, Caidence and Nolan; her maternal grandmother, Barbara Eddy; and many aunts and uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, 197 Suncrest St., Grey, TN. A celebration of Sarah's life will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jenkins and Pastor Seaman officiating, and will be live streamed on the church website, buffaloridgebaptist.org. There will be a graveside service in Point Arena, CA at a later date which will be officiated by Pastor Ken Butler.
Darron and Bobbi want to give special thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Vanderbilt Hospital for their loving care of Sarah. Donations in Sarah's memory may be sent to SILENT WORD MINISTRIES at the following link: http://tinyurl.com-Memorial-Sarah-Briggs.
