Sarah Jane Williams, born December 9, 1941, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2011, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

She retired from Sullivan County Schools, having worked at Miller Perry Elementary School. She was a member of Gospel Mission Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Arnold Williams; her father and mother, Glen and Alda Cox; a brother, Gerald "Mikey" Cox; and a nephew, Anthony Milhorn.

Surviving are her children, Earl Williams and wife, Opal, Teresa Byington and husband, Jamie, Carolyn Chambers and husband, Donnie, Mary Jarrett and husband, Mike, Cathy Spears and husband, Dennis; a brother, Everette Cox; a sister, Wilma Jean Milhorn; grandchildren, Daniel, Jodi, Nikki, Regina, Melisa, Kristy, Heather, Angie, Jessica, and Dustin; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00, with Rev. Shelton Meade officiating and Pastor Lewis Meade delivering the message.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Hilltop Mission Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Carolyn Chambers to assist the family with expenses.
