Scheryl McMillan Hicks

Scheryl McMillan Hicks, 66, of Church Hill, passed away at Indian Path Medical Center following an extended period of poor health.

Scheryl was born at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia and had resided in this area for most of her life. She was a graduate of Church Hill High School Class of 1960. Scheryl worked as a secretary at Mason Dixon Freight Lines for several years and later she worked for McMillan Insurance.

She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and a charter member of Church Hill Community Chest. Scheryl enjoyed bowling and playing bridge.

Her parents, Otis B. McMillan, Sr. and Beatrice G. McMillan; and brother, Otis B. McMillan, Jr. preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Eddie E. Hicks of Church Hill; daughter, Martye S. Hicks and special friend Koti M. Whitsell, both of Mount Carmel; one brother, Archie McMillan and wife Shirley of Church Hill; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor James Adams officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
