Scott Gould, age 68, of Church Hill, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday April 19th. Scott was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on June 20th, 1948, to Lilian and Irving Gould. He relocated to Church Hill with his wife Christine Diltz Gould in 1973, where he built a home and raised his three children. Scott was widely known as a musician and music teacher, a calling which he followed passionately for almost 50 years. His music and his teaching have influenced many people in the area over his career. He had a deep appreciation for the tranquility of natural surroundings and spent much of his time improving and maintaining the forested land that he owned and loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife Christine, and survived by his three children Scott Gould, Gabe Gould, and Spicey Pate, as well as his two grandchildren Chloe Gould and Avian Pate and his brothers Mark Gould, John Gould, and Paul Gould.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday April 30th at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, 117 East Charlemont Ave. in Kingsport, Tennessee. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. with memorial services starting at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UNICEF (UNICEF.org) or Feeding America (feedingamerica.org). The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the teachers and students at the School of Music.
