Sgt. 1st Class Retired Thurman Wallace Tittle

Sgt. 1st Class Retired Thurman W. Tittle, 76, of Kingsport, passed away July 18, 2019. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army over the course of many years in Vietnam, Germany and various assignments in the United States. He was an active member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, until his health prevented him from attending.

Thurman was preceded in death by his three children, Valena Ann Tittle (09/11/1968); Clarence William Tittle (06/07/1969); his infant son (07/10/1974); his parents, William Isaac Tittle and Lena Elizabeth (McCurry) Tittle; and his five brothers, Jimmy, Kenny, Jerry, Ernest and Ronnie.

He is survived by his son, Wallace Clinton Tittle and wife, Carri Kitts Tittle and their children, Zachary Aaron Tittle and Aleigha Morgan Kitts; daughter, Heather Louise Tittle Lockett and her children, Cody Mitchell Faulkner and Kasie Nicole Lockett; daughter, Melody Ann Tittle; son, Paul William Tittle and wife, Jennifer Bonnie Tittle and their children, Austin Alexander Tittle, Edwin Owen Tittle, Daisy May Tittle; special friends, Joann Eaton, Arthur Vance, Steve Alvis and Jerry Lawson.

Special thanks for the loving and personal care for Thurman by the doctors, nurses and staff at the community living center of the veterans admin at Mountain Home.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Kingsley United Methodist Church from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Adam Love, Rev. Craig Needham and Rev. Amy Summerall officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. with military honors to be conducted by the American Legion 3/265. Pallbearers will be staff of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Kingsley United Methodist Church (2828 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport, TN 37660) or to the charity of your choice.
