Shannon Franklin Babb

Shannon Franklin Babb, 41, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Shannon was a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend to many, as well as an inspiration to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Franklin and two brothers-in-law, William "Billy" Babb and Anthony Babb.

Shannon is survived by her husband, Ira Jackson Babb, Jr., of Kingsport; father-in-law, Ira Jackson Babb, Sr.; mother and stepfather, Carolyn and James Vaughn of Mt. Carmel; brother, Christopher Franklin of Kingsport; sister, Carrie Amyx and husband, Jeff of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Dan Pendergrass and Barbara Winston.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Pastor Thomas Kock officiating. Burial will follow at Babb Cemetery in Midway, VA.

Pallbearers will be James Henry Winston, Benjamin Thomas, Jared Jackson Winston, Danny Pendergrass, Ed Pendergrass and Jeff Hensley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for to help with funeral expenses.
