Sharon Ann Kimes Barger, 72, peacefully joined the Lord in Heaven on August 26, 2018 from the comfort of her home in Kingsport, TN.
She was born to Arthur Monroe Kimes and Lottie Mae Brown Kimes, on March 23rd, 1946 in Portageville, Missouri. She attended Portageville High School where she later graduated in 1964.
Sharon was a passionate, Christian woman who loved gospel music, traveling, and spending her time with her family. Sharon will be remembered as a selfless woman who enjoyed spending her time volunteering to help the people of her community.
She later went on to open her own real estate agency by the name Sharon Cross Realty. After several years in realty, she opened Sharon's BBQ which she ran and managed for several years before passing it on to her daughter, Christy Stout. During this time, she worked along side her husband, Pal Barger, to help run Skoby's.
Sharon and her husband, Pal Barger, 88, of Kingsport, TN, have been supportive soul mates for over forty years. They loved each other so deeply that everyone they touched for generations to come will remember their bond.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Monroe Kimes, her mother Lottie Mae Kimes, and her brothers, Dee Kimes and William Kimes.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Pal Barger of Kingsport, TN; her daughter, Christy Cross Stout; her son-in-law, John Stout; her stepchildren, Rick Barger and Kelley Crewey and her son Kevin, and Christine Barger and husband Michael Morison; her grandchildren, Lottie Rae Stout, Zoe Luca Stout, Landon Pratt, and Jonathan Pratt and wife Tiffany Pratt; and great-grandchildren, Emma Pratt and Austyn Pratt. Her surviving siblings and their spouses are, Linda and Danny Hall, Judy and J.R. Blankenship, Daniel and Kay Kimes, Marilyn Kimes, O.L. Kimes, Randy and Debbie Kimes, Tammy and Russell Street, Freida Kimes, and Reida Kimes. Sharon is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Glenwood Baptist Church, Center St., Kingsport. The service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Tiger Brooks officiating.
Family entombment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
