Sherman W. Fair, 56, Mt. Carmel, TN, was received in the arms of the Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2013. He was born January 6, 1957 in Kingsport and was a lifelong area resident. He loved fishing and being outdoors. Sherman was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Clifton Fair, grandparents, Norm and Etta Fair, and Leonard and Martha Gibson.
Sherman is survived by his mother, Thelma Brumett of Mt. Carmel; two sisters, Marleen Weems and husband, Ronnie of Church Hill, and Angela Brown and husband, Sonny of Kingsport; brother, Justin Fair and Parker of Tampa Florida; nieces, Amy Newland-Williams and husband, Daniel, and Alyssa Peters; nephews, Josh Weems and Aaron Peters; great-niece, Alexis Newland; and great-nephew, Tyler Williams; and very special great-niece, Haven Weems.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 p.m. at Belmont Baptist Church, 224 Belmont Ave., Mt. Carmel, TN. Funeral services will follow at the church at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. James Adams and Rev. Brad Davis officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, 377 Clonce St., Weber City, VA 24290.
