Sherman Littleton

Sherman Littleton, 66, of the Blair?s Gap Community, rode the wagon home to Glory, November 23, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was an avid mule enthusiast who loved to break and ride mules and horses. He enjoyed working the mules and wagon riding. He was a member of the Outdoorsman Club and enjoyed going to the Grassy Creek Doubles. Sherman loved life, his family especially his grandchildren and most of all he loved his wife and best friend Ann, whom he cherished with all his heart.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Glen and Glade Littleton; daughter, Tammy Littleton; brothers, Herman and Therman ?Bruno? Littleton; and sister, Zelma Kay Littleton.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Littleton of Blair?s Gap; sons, Mitchell Littleton and wife Tammy of Beech Creek, Mark Littleton and wife Missy of Kingsport, Rodney Barrett and wife Becky of the Lone Star Community; daughter, Becky Quillen of Kingsport; grandchildren; Zeke Littleton and wife Tabitha of Beech Creek, Zack Littleton of Beech Creek, McKenzie, Matthew, Dustin, and Ronnie Littleton of Kingsport, Justin and Jake Quillen of Kingsport, Heather, Wyatt, and Hunter Barrett of the Lone Star Community; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Velma Alvis of Church Hill, Ella Faye Fields of Kingsport, and Eula Mullins of Blountville; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Tim Perry and Dr. Bobby Bernard officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday at Solomon?s Temple Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be; Zeke Littleton, Zack Littleton, James Parker, Robert Parker, Justin Quillen, Jake Quillen, and E.G. Moody. Honorary pallbearers will be; Charlie Middleton, Gene Mills, Noah Smith and Dennis Westmoreland.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Wellmont Hospice Program and especially to Renee Skelton, R.N, for her special care.
