Ship Brickey, 68, of Limestone, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010, at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Brickey; three brothers; and four sisters.
Surviving him are his wife, Dorothy Brickey, of the home; son, Skip Brickey and girlfriend, Jackie Bailey, of the home; son, Ronald Brickey and wife, Margaret, Jearoldstown; daughter, Pamela Sams and husband, Jim, of Limestone; daughter, Donnia Necessary and husband, Larry, Jonesborough; Diana Norton and husband, Seaf, Jr., Jonesborough; Tabatha Garber, Limestone; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers H. T. Brickey and wife, Betty, Kingsport, Roy Brickey and wife, Jean, Gray, Paul Brickey and wife, Geraldine, Church Hill, Freddie Brickey and wife, Jennifer, Church Hill; sister, Peggy Adkins and husband, Wallace, Chuckey; special friends, Corey Spears, Dustin Spears, Chris and Denise Spears, Rick Quillen, Pookie , Johnny Necessary, Johnny Hammonds; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Chapel, with Rev. Roy Brickey officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
