Shirley Earley Dolen

Shirley Earley Dolen, 88, of Kingsport, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 8, 2024. She was a kind and loving person to all and will be greatly missed. Shirley was born to the late Emmitt and Mary Cobb Earley. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, graduated Sullivan West High School in 1954, and retired from Eastman Kodak. She was of the Baptist faith.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Herbert Dolen, Jr.; grandson, Matthew Wayne Dolen; sisters, Wilma Reynolds, Marie Townsend, Linda Flannigan; and brother, Kenneth Earley.

Survivors are her son, Gary Dolen; sister, Harriet Chapman; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Shirley will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2024 at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Shannon Powers officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
