Shirley Watson Johnson, 80, Kingsport, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Shirley retired in 1993 after 30 years of service with Ketron Middle School and former Ketron High School. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence H. Johnson; parents, Bill and Anna Watson; two sisters, Margaret Johnson and Haseltine Aldeen; brothers, Malcolm Watson and an infant brother.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Myra Adams and husband, Terry, and Marcella Murray and husband, Johnny, all of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Kelly Kilgore and husband, Adam of Billings, Montana, Amanda Townsend and husband, Jeremy of Knoxville, TN, Johnny Ray Murray and Justin Murray; four great-grandchildren, Maizie, Conan, Lexus and Tiah Kilgore; brother-in-law, Joseph Aldeen of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held for the family with Rev. Mike Pelham officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Kingsport, 2141 Idle Hour Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
