Shirley Tipton Jordan, 72, Kingsport, died at home Sunday, January 8, 2012, after a battle with lung cancer. She was a homemaker who enjoyed making quilts, housekeeping and meeting new people. Shirley was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and a member of the Woodland Heights Congregation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelly Tipton and Lillie Kinkead Tipton; sister, Beulah Kinkead; brothers, Edward Dock Kinkead, Charles Faye Tipton, Fred Leonard Tipton and Junior Lee Tipton.
Shirley is survived by her husband of over 50 years, John Jordan; daughters, Teresa
and husband, Jerry Begley, and Brenda Jordan; granddaughter, Brianne Begley and husband Richie Wyckoff; grandsons, Andrew Begley, Adam Jordan and Jordan Tate; sisters, Myrtle Ramey and Rhonda Bo Hall ; brothers, James Kelly Tipton, Willie Tipton; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 with Mr. Robert Burpitt and Mr. Vaughn McCoy officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11:00 am at VA Mountain Home National Cemetery.
