Shirley Ann McGuire

Mrs. Shirley Ann McGuire, 79, passed away in North Carolina on Friday, May 22, 2020, at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. McGuire was born on July 27, 1940, in Knoxville, TN, to the late William and Margaret Campbell Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James McGuire; son, Jay Wadsworth; and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. McGuire retired from Holston Valley Community Hospital.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Wadsworth McDaniel and husband, Scott of Benson; grandchildren, Justin McDaniel of Benson, Tyler McDaniel of West Palm Beach, FL, Sami McDaniel of Benson; brothers, Bill Armstrong and wife Betsy of Kingsport, TN; sister-in-law, Lucy Hathcock and husband, Barrie of Winston Salem, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Members of the public are invited to the funeral home on Friday between 12 and 4 for a public viewing. The family will not be present at that time but your attendance will be greatly appreciated. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
