Shirley Jean Page

Shirley Boyd Page, 73, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, attended Mars Hill College, and graduated from Carson Newman College. She retired from the Kingsport City School System where she taught for 41 years. Her teaching career included Blountville High School, Dobyns-Bennett High School, and John Sevier School. Mrs. Page was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bobby Page; parents, Lon and Maude Boyd; two brothers, Lon V. Boyd and Bill Boyd; and one sister, Betty Hensley.

Surviving are two sons, Dan Page and wife Christie of Kingsport, David Page and wife Lisa of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Daniel Page Jr., Sydney Page, Grace Page; three nieces, Beth Brazier, Alice Pope, Michelle Cline; three nephews, Ronnie Harwood, Bill Harwood, and Bobby Lee Harwood; two sisters-in-law, Betsy Boyd and Barbara Holland; and one brother-in-law, Howard Hensley.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Dr. Greg Burton officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
