Shirley Parks Howard

Shirley Parks Howard, 88, Kingsport, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Pennsylvania, she moved to south Florida in the late 1950's, and settled in Kingsport in 1976. Shirley was a choir director and organist at Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church for 42 years. She was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Ira Gahagen Howard, Jr.; and sisters, Nancy Calamari and Ruth Davis.

Shirley is survived by her children, Nathan Howard, Joanne Howard, Mark Howard, Sara Howard and Adam Howard; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and brother, Gilbert Parks.

A special thanks to our Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church family for their love and support.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-7:00 pm at Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church. The memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Marshall Steinle officiating.
