Shirley Worley Stamper

Shirley Worley Stamper, 82, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019. Born on May 7, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio, Shirley was raised in Bristol, VA on Boozy Creek Rd. She graduated Hilton High School in 1952. Shirley worked at Deels Floor Coverings for 15 years. She then worked as a State Certified Chiropractic Assistant and X-Ray Technician for Merrill Chiropractic for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Stamper; father and mother, Jett and Myrtle Worley; and brother, Grady Worley.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Phillips (John) of Cary, North Carolina; son, Dr. H David Merrill (Kathy); grandsons, Ben Phillips of Redondo Beach, CA, Montana Merrill of Studio City, CA; granddaughter, Dakota Merrill of Burbank, CA; step-son, David Stamper (Sharon) of Kingsport, step grandson, Kevin Stamper (Kathy) of Kingsport; step granddaughter, Kim Stamper of Chicago, IL; sister, Kathy Moore (Bill) of Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews, Pam Worley of Murfreesboro, TN, John Carter (Monica) of Kingsport, Jason Carter, and Chattanooga, TN.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with son, David Merrill officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Booher's Chapel Cemetery.
