Sidney B. "Sid" Miller, Jr., passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Asbury Place at Kingsport. Born January 13, 1929 in Frankfort, KY, he moved to Kingsport in 1930. Sid attended Kingsport City schools and graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1946. He attended Carson-Newman College and graduated from ETSU with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Sid worked for Tennessee Eastman in the CE Division until transferring to E.C.P.I. in Technical Service-Chemicals. He served for 9 years in the New Products Division-Chemicals and returned to Technical Service in 1985. He retired from Eastman Kodak in 1987 after 36 years of service.

He was a member of several fraternal organizations. Sid served as a driver for Meals on Wheels from 1985 to 2000 and was a charter member of Preston Hills Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.

An avid golfer, he served as the president and on the Board of Directors of Meadowview Golf Club. He and several other members of Meadowview established The Crossings Golf Club, aided in the course's construction and he served as its first president. He also served on the City of Kingsport "Cattails" committee to establish that golf course. Sid was a football and basketball official with TSSAA for 41 years, serving in Region One.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney B. Miller and Sallie Milam Miller, and step-mother, Neva Brown Miller.

Sid is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annette Marshall Miller; three daughters, Gail Eldridge and husband, Pete of Kingsport, Suzanne Elsea and husband, Bud of Norcross, GA, and Sarah Morelock and husband, Tony of Johnson City; two granddaughters, Jennifer Harris of Frederick, MD, and Melissa Rivers and husband, Matt of Kingsport; one grandson, Ethan Morelock of Johnson City; and three great-grandsons, Benjamin Harris, Connor Rivers, and Zackary Rivers.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Asbury Place at Kingsport with Rev. Barron Hopper officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Asbury for their loving care of Sid.
