Stanley Blair

Stanley Blair, 74, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at NHC in Bristol, VA. He was born and had lived in this area all his life.  He was born again into the family of God on November 25, 1973. Stanley was a member of Gunnings Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He loved God’s word and God’s people. Stanley retired from the Press after 40 years of service.  He then worked for Sullivan County for 5 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Cecil Blair, and sister-in-law, Lynn Walters.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cheryl Blair; son, Shannon Blair and wife, Lydia; granddaughter, Moriah; brother, Scotty Blair and wife, Sharon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Becky Walters; sister-in-law, Cathy Dixon and husband, Arnold; and 2 nephews and 1 niece, Lee, Charla and Jeff.

Special thanks to friends who were faith to visit and fellowship, Ray Adams and wife, Priscilla and Ray Moody.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Gunnings Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. J.W. Depew officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Gunnings Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Blair, Jeff Blair, Stewart Blair, Ray Moody, Rick Hartsock and Arnold Dixon.

In lieu flowers, donations can be made to the family.
