Stella Bear

Stella Bear, 87, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at her residence. Born in Sullivan County, TN on September 5, 1927, daughter of the late George and Ethel Cavin, she had resided in this area her entire life. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Lone Star Independent Missionary Baptist Church. Stella will be remembered as a loving and devoted Mom, Nannie, sister and friend who loved sitting on the porch in her rocking chair visiting with family and friends, making pies and quilting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Arthur Bear; son, George David Bear; brothers, Lloyd and Robert; and sister, Irene.

Stella is survived by her son, Ricky L. Bear and wife, Beverly; daughter, Sharon Edwards and husband, Michael all of Kingsport, TN; granddaughter, Sonya Renfro and husband, Michael; great-granddaughter, Carissa Renfro, all of Manchester, CT; brothers, Sevier Cavin and wife, Bonnie, and Ray Cavin, sisters, Edna Hutson and Lillian Cox, all of Kingsport, TN and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Joanie and Linda with Amedisys Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jim Mullins officiating.

The graveside service will be conducted on Saturday at 12:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those attending the committal service are asked to assemble at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home by 11:00 am on Saturday and then proceed to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
