Stella Mae Gilliam

Stella Mae Gilliam, 91, of Kingsport, passed away, surrounded by family, on Saturday, May 14, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Born in Kyles Ford, TN, she had lived in Kingsport for most of her life. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gilliam, six sisters, two brothers, and her son-in-law, Steve Wright.

Survivors include her son, Larry Garber and wife Anne, Kingsport; two daughters, Debbie Oakes and husband Gilbert, St. Augustine, FL, Freida Wright, Kingsport; grandchildren, Lee Garber, Joe Garber, Jay Oakes, Stephanie Wright Matt Ensor, and Sarah Wright; great-grandchildren, Garrett, McKenzie and Lindsay Garber; sister, Bonnie Forester, brother Elmo Goins and wife Nellie; stepson, Harold Gilliam and wife Debbie; stepdaughter Helen Davenport and husband Harold; step grandchildren Kitty Bishop, Chip Gilliam, Robin Staton, Randi Key, and Jim Gilliam.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Dr. Donnie Brannen officiating.
