Steve "Pug" Lawson

Steve “Pug” Lawson, 62, of Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 21, 2019. Born in Eidson, TN, he had resided most of his life in the area. Steve was a huge UT Vols football fan. He enjoyed his gardening, and loved to fish and hunt.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Lawson; and father-in-law, Blaine Mitchell.

Steve is survived by his wife of 34 years, Penny Lawson; son, Corey Steven Lawson and wife Mikka; two very special dogs, Callie and Clark “Smiley”; mother, Fodell Lawson; mother-in-law, Aileen Mitchell; one sister, Phyllis Gilliam and husband Cleave; three brothers, Dewey Lawson and wife Arlene, Richard Lawson and wife Wanda, Forrester Lawson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Joe Shelton officiating.

Burial will follow at Bacon-Kincheloe Cemetery.

Family and friends will be pallbearers.
