Steven Costella

Steven Floyd Costella, 58, of Kingsport, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville after complications from his heart. Born in Cheverly, Maryland, raised in Prince George County, he moved to Kingsport in 1994. Steve retired from the City of Kingsport as a school bus driver. He was a member of New Covenant Pentecostal Church. Steve loved life and lived it to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Louise Costella, and sister, Barbara Jean Mantz.

Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rhonda Walters Costella of the home; two daughters, Cristy Eagan and husband, Bobby of Kingsport, and Jennifer Bolling and husband, Alex of Kingsport; sons, Jonathan Costella of the home; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brayden and Robbie; brother, James Costella; father and mother-in-law, John and Shirley Walters of Kingsport; brothers-in-law, Robert Mantz, and Johnny Walters and wife, Gwen; sister-in-law, Moretta Cretsinger and husband, Buddy; several nephews; and Ted and Shirley Collins of Kingsport, who he called Mom and Dad.

The family will receive friends on Friday, from 5-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home with Pastor John B. Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Walters, Ted Collins, Caleb Phillips, Joshua Phillips, James Phillips and James Oaks.
