Steven Kimball Ramey

Steven Kimball Ramey of Lexington, N.C. passed away on February 27th, 2025. Steve was born on May 12, 1962, in Kingsport, Tennessee, son of the late William Clyde and Peggy Bethany Ramey. He was a graduate of Ketron High School, class of 1980 and was a volunteer firefighter with Bloomingdale. 

Steve is also survived by aunts and uncles; James Conley & Barbara Ramey; Robert & Elva Mae Huffman along with cousins Jeff & Elisha Bethany and many more family members. 

When Steve moved to North Carolina in 1990 he began a career with Richard Childress racing and Childress Vineyard, for over 34 years. His life was centered around his work and traveling. Because of that he was able to meet and acquire many friends from all areas of life. 

There was not a beach in Florida or an island at The Outer Banks of North Carolina that Steve did not enjoy going to and relaxing with friends. Steve was kind and helpful and would lend a hand to anyone in need. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ALS United of North Carolina & Jim “Catfish” Hunter ALS Foundation. 

There will be a Memorial Service held at a later date and time in North Carolina. 

 A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2630 HWY 75, Blountville, Tennessee with Steve Hartzog officiating. Friends may visit with family and friends after the service at the graveside.
