Steven Lee Seeger

Steven Lee Seeger, of Harmony Community, Jonesborough, Tennessee, passed away from a massive heart attack on Thursday, May 16, 2013. He was born May 11, 1962, and was the son of Charles and Ann Seeger of Colonial Heights.

Steve was educated in the Sullivan County School system and The University of Tennessee and East Tennessee State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. He was employed by Greene County Bank (Capitol Bank) in Greeneville since 1985 as Assistant Vice President.

Steve was a sport's fan his entire life and most recently was a huge fan of the Daniel Boone Trail Blazers. He followed the Minnesota Vikings and the University of Alabama since early childhood.

Steve was an active member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church for 50 years. He was currently serving on the finance committee and was a member of the Cross Training Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Lee Massengill; two nephews, Hank and Heath Harvey.

Steve is survived by his wife, Angie Sherfey Seeger; sons, Mark and Grant Seeger; brothers, Chas (Patty) and John (Angela) Seeger; sister, Lynne Seeger Harvey (Greg); nieces, Heather Harvey, Christa Seeger and Reagan Seeger; nephews Chase Seeger and Abraham Seeger. He is also survived by Lynes and Gerry Sherfey, his mother-in-law and father-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport where the funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating. Music will be performed by the Front Porch Singers.
The graveside service will follow at Morning View Cemetery in Bluff City.

Pallbearers will be members of the Colonial Heights Cross Training Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Heights United Methodist Church scholarship fund for Steve's sons or a designated fund at the church, 631 Lebanon Road, Kingsport, Tennessee, 37663.
