Sunya Belle Britts Fleming

Sunya Belle Britts Fleming, 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2019.  She was born and raised in Roanoke, VA but later moved to Kingsport, graduating from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1950.  Sunya was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.  Her life was marked by singing, dancing, laughter and a love for all things sweet.  Sunya’s immediate family as well as her nieces, nephew, cousins, in-laws, and friends loved to visit her house, knowing that they would always have a good time. Her life was a blessing to many people as she brought love and joy into every situation. She will be missed greatly by everyone who was privileged to know her.

A very special thanks to the outstanding ICU staff at Holston Valley Medical Center. The family so appreciates the loving care that was given to Sunya.

Sunya was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Garnet Fleming; parents, Raymond E. and Retta Britts; step-mother, Sula Britts; sister, Jeanne Britts Hickman; and brother, Ramon Britts.

Sunya is survived by daughter, Amy Fleming Gray and husband, Wally; grandchildren, Amanda Dunham and husband, Justin; Brittany Gray and Lily Gray; great grandchildren, Emma and Sophie Dunham; brother, Bill Britts and wife, Sharon of Maryville, TN; sister-in-law, Kathleen Britts; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, with Mr. Will Ellis officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
