Suzanne Sudderth Berry, 77, of Kingsport, died Thursday morning, January 18, 2018, after an extended illness. Born in Chattanooga, TN, she was a graduate of Science Hill High School and from ETSU with a degree in Business/Psychology. After college she moved to Memphis to support her husband, David, while he attended the School of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee. Suzanne moved to Kingsport in 1964 and became very involved with the community. She was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church, Kingsport, the Junior League, United Methodist Women, and cooked for Meals on Wheels. Suzanne loved her family and enjoyed traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Martha Sudderth.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, David E. Berry of Kingsport; 3 daughters, Betsy Berry Cox and husband, Danny of Crittenden, KY, Jennifer Berry Bingham and husband, Jeff of Kingsport, and Becca Berry Williams and husband, Brent of Nashville; 9 grandchildren, Jake, Rachel, Jessica, Laura, Sophia, Julianna, Gigi, Phoebe, and Kai Benjamin; 2 sisters, Marilyn Backus of Atlanta, and Jan Castillo and husband, Eddie of Memphis; brother, Robert Sudderth and wife, Jane of Hendersonville; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 3:30 pm at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Green and Rev. Jack P. Weikel officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
