Sylvia L. Darnell

Sylvia L. Darnell, 1656 Newbern Road, Kingsport, died at 4:15 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2008, at her home of an apparent heart attack.

She was a lifelong resident of the Kingsport area. Sylvia attended Freedom Independent Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were a son, Joshua Darnell; a daughter, Marissa Darnell; her husband, Richard Darnell; and her father, Fred Larkins.

Surviving are two daughters, Sabrina Christian and Angela Allen, both of Kingsport; one son, Sean Christian and wife, Julie, of Kingsport; seven grandchildren; her mother, Mamie Larkins of Kingsport; one sister, Brenda Larkins of Kingsport; and one brother, Mark Larkins of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends any time at the home of her son, Sean Christian, and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
