Tammy Jean Lyons

Tammy Jean Lyons, 62, Gray, TN went to her eternal home on Saturday, July 20, 2024, following a brief illness. Tammy was born on February 10, 1962, in Johnson City and was one of four siblings. She was a food, beverage, and banquet director for 30 years at Disney Orlando Resorts and The Carnegie Hotel and Wellingtons restaurant. Most recently she worked selflessly as a certified nursing assistant at NHC Johnson City. Known affectionately as "Grammie" to her grandson and "Gigi" to her great-grandson; She loved her family more than anything and was so extremely proud of her two daughters.

In addition to her parents, Jerome and Joann Chase Lyons, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimbo" Shores and brother, Sammy Lyons.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Chrystal Dugger, Johnson City, TN and Jennifer DeVault (Josh Stapleton), Elizabethton, TN; sister, Judy Lyons, Gray, TN; brother, David Lyons (Michelle), Gray, TN; grandson, Landon Fields (Mollie), Gate City, VA; great-grandson, Lincoln Fields; special friends, Ann Jones Piney Flats, TN, Steve and Mary Mitchell Orlando, FL, and Kevin Catoe Gray, TN.

A celebration of life for Tammy will be announced later.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of the ICU in Johnson City Medical Center; with special thanks to Lisa Torbett, RN for her care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to cover final expenses.
