Teddy McClain, Sr., 59, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at his home following a brief illness. Native and lifetime resident of Sullivan County, he was owner and operator of McClain Concrete.
Teddy is survived by his sons, T. J. McClain and wife, Kim, Kingsport, and Dakota McClain, Kingsport; daughters, Vanessa Kilian and husband, Mike, Johnson City, and Glenda Arnold, Kingsport; grandchildren, Kayla McClain, Dustin Britt, Preston Greene, Cathrann Arnold, and expectant grandchild Kaden McClain, Kara Christian and Nick Christian; great-grandson, Brentley Greene; loving mother, Lois McClain, Kingsport; fiancée' Teresa Dennison; two step-children, Jessie and Tisha Dennison; step-grandchild, JJ; three sisters, Kathy Laws and husband, Bud, Johnson City, Karen McClain, Kingsport, and Kay Trent and husband, Ralph, Church Hill; his brother, Terry McClain, Kingsport; and one nephew, Brandon McClain.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Friends may call at any time at the home of his mother, 2208 Reservoir Rd, Kingsport, or his fiancée Teresa at 2424 Princeton Road, Kingsport, TN, 37660.
The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson Chapel, Kingsport, with Rev. Frank Miller officiating.
The graveside service will follow at Hilltop Mission Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuckey Arnold, Eric Bailey, Mike Melson, Wesley Overbay, Bud Laws, and Mike Kilian.
