Tennie V. "Tudy" Barrett, 89, 1921 Patton Street, Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
Tudy was born and raised in Hawkins County but spent her adult years as a resident of Kingsport. She was a faithful member of more than 60 years at Fort Robinson Baptist Church and for many years sang in the choir.
In her younger years, she was a licensed beautician and volunteered many hours at the hospitality shop of Holston Valley Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert P. Barrett; parents, W.O. Dotson and Esther D. Dotson; brothers, William and J.C. Dotson.
Tudy is survived by sons, Wes and wife Linda, Robert Lynn and David; daughter, Barbara and husband, Mac Dorton; sisters, Edna R. Larkin, Thelma (Sis) Alley; brother, Edsel R. Dotson; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013, at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Dustin Allman officiating.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Madison House-ADC, Church Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Wellmont Hospice for their professional and compassionate care.
