Teresa Bass Halsey

Teresa Bass Halsey, 51, of Kingsport, died peacefully Monday evening, May 16, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Born in Kingsport, where she resided most of her life, Teresa was a 1982 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. She had worked as a teacher's assistant at Andrew Jackson Elementary School for 27 years. Teresa was a member of Indian Springs Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter W. Bass; and infant grandson, Eli Thomas Halsey.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Alan Halsey, of the home; son, Casey Halsey and wife Heather of Kingsport; mother, Peggy Brock Bass of Kingsport; brothers, Tim Bass and wife Christi of Kingsport; and Tommy Bass of Kingsport; mother and father-in-law, Eloise and Ronald Halsey of Sparta, North Carolina; nieces, Tracy Pierson, Claire Halsey, Amanda Clevenger, Chelsea Bass, Ashley Bass, and Jamie Bass; nephews, Jeremy Halsey, Jordan Bass, and Jackson Bass; and special great niece, Dallas Bass.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Mike Beverly, Minister, officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Teresa Halsey Forever Strong Fund, c/o Indian Springs Christian Church, 5536 Kiowa Street, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664.
