Terri Compton

Terri Gooch Compton, 55, Rogersville, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 13, 2014 at her home. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and Bristol College. She retired from Kingsport Housing Authority after 23 years of service. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, Nena, sister, aunt and wife.

Terri was preceded in death by her father, Walter Gooch; sister, Debbie Gooch; and niece, Tiffany Compton.

Survivors include her mother, Bobbie Gooch; Terri's husband, Clifford Compton; daughter, Candida Henegar and husband, David; son, Steve Allen Gooch; stepson, Cody Compton; grandchildren, Hali Barrett and fiancé, Anthony Lynch, Ethan Gooch, Brileigh Johnson Gooch, Alyssa Henegar, Kaylin Compton; great-grandchild, Kaesyn Barrett; siblings, Cathy Scruggs and husband, David, Jody Compton and husband, Randall, Diana Gooch, Michael Gooch; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved dog, Bear Compton.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Pete Smith and Pastor Wyndell Sydebothom officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gooch, Randell Compton, Ryan Pauley, Anthony Lynch, Andy Shafer, Kenny Light, Nathaniel Gooch and Jacob Gooch. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Olinger and Bronson Light.
