Terry P. Chase, 70, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Wellmont Hospice House following an illness of cancer and dementia.
Terry was born in Kingsport on April 12, 1944, and lived his entire life here . He was saved at an early age at Glenwood Baptist Church where he became a member and had served as an ordained deacon.
He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett and attended Steed College. Terry proudly served in the Army, stationed in Germany. He retired from Eastman in 2003 after working in Building 255, Polymers Division for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lloyd and Viola Willis Chase; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Maude Wallen.
Terry is survived by his wife of nearly 39 years, Cathy Wallen Chase; one daughter, Beth Ann Chase, both of the home; brother, Merwyn Chase and wife, Barbara; sister-in-law, Sena W. Hammond and husband E.K. who felt like his own family; nephews and a niece; great-nephews and great-nieces; and his uncle and aunt, Donnie and Marie Willis.
Private graveside services were held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 25, at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Baker officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wellmont Hospice for all the care and kindness Terry received during his illness. The Lord placed each of you in our lives and we will never forget you.
