Terry "Popeye" Hopkins, 44, of Kingsport passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at his home.
Terry was a loving son, father, grandfather, and was a friend to all who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Dorothy Frazier Carter; grandparents, Amos and Virginia Frazier and Evelyn Carter; and two uncles, Ralph and Bennie Frazier.
Surviving are one special daughter, Beth Hopkins of Kingsport; three special granddaughters, Hannah, Emily, and Gracie; his special dad, Elmer Dwight Carter of Kingsport; one uncle, Lynard Frazier and wife Sandra; and special friends, Jim and Bettie Wallen, Randy and Diane Light, Tim and Melinda Riner, and Johnny and Lisa Short.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. J. C. "Jake" Riner and Billy Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Depews Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Light, Bobby Murray, Tim Riner, Billy Frazier, Johnny Short, and Tom Thornburg. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Wallen and Leonard Frazier.
