Thelma Jean Barnette

Thelma Jean Barnette, 73, Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Indian Path Medical Center following a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and was a graduate of Ketron High School and the University of Tennessee. Jean had retired from Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center where she had worked as a registered nurse.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Ruby Quillen; brother, Donald Quillen; two sisters, Anna Lee Quillen and Edna Talbert; special nephew, David Nunley.

Thelma is survived by her son, Doug Barnette and wife, Missy; grandson, Zach Barnette; husband, Jim Barnette; sister, Dorothy Nunley; brother, Sam Quillen and wife, Deborah, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 19th, 2011 from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Owens, Senior Chaplain at Indian Path Medical Center officiating.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
