Thelma Elaine Butterfield, 79, of Kingsport, peacefully joined our heavenly Lord on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. She was born on July 29, 1933 in Caro, Michigan. Thelma graduated from Plymouth High School in Michigan. She was a nurse in the U.S. Navy and worked for the University of Michigan. Thelma had a giving heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anita and Williams Livingston; grandson, Justin Cole; and brothers, J.D. and Junior Livingston.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Frederick A. Butterfield of Kingsport; daughters, Anna Cole and husband, Blake of Omaha, NE, and Debra Sue Comer of Kingsport; son, John Butterfield of Kingsport; grandsons, Colt Comer of Johnson City, Caine Comer and wife, Erika of Vacaville, CA, Cody Comer and wife, Danelle of Kingsport, Emerson Cole, Aaron Cole, Harrison Cole and Peyton Cole, all of Omaha, NE; great-granddaughter, Chloe Comer of Vacaville, CA; and great-grandson, Tidus Comer of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Bloomingdale Baptist Church with Pastor Phil Whittemore officiating. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cody Comer, John Butterfield, Colt Comer, Harrison Cole, Peyton Cole, Greg Hall and Danny Vines.
