Thelma Ruth Light Kimberling

Thelma Ruth Light Kimberling, 93, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Carter County, TN on December 1, 1930, a daughter of the late Orville Lee and Ester Moffitt Light, she has lived in this area her entire life. Thelma loved the outdoors and tending to her flowers, her favorites were red roses and geraniums. She was of the Baptist faith.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Kimberling in 2011; and eight siblings.

Survivors include her five children, Judy, Tony, Sandy, Jerry and Christy; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mary Price, June, Mickey Smith, hospice staff at Holston Valley, The Wexford House and NHC of Kingsport.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.

Those attending the graveside service are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
