Thelma Light

Thelma Light, 89, of the Beech Creek Community, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 27, 2020. She was a lifelong resident of the Beech Creek Community. Thelma attended Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church and Gospel Mission Church. She loved to sing gospel music. Thelma was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Light; five brothers; one sister; and parents, Base and Violet Morelock.

Thelma is survived by two daughters, Christine Morelock and Evelyn Haney and husband Andy; two sons, Steve Light and Bill Light; four grandchildren, Shawn Morelock, Kristal Hamilton, Timothy Light, and Emily Light; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Lewis Meade and Bro. Shelton Meade officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020, at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
