Thelma G. Nunley, Kingsport, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 after a period of declining health.
She was a retired teacher with the Atlanta, GA School System in the Chamblee-Dunwoody area, where she taught English for many years.
Thelma was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ada Nunley; her brother, Floyd Nunley, Jr., her sister, Mildred Nunley; and a nephew, David Nunley.
Survivors include her sister, Virginia Ford, Kingsport; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Nunley, Kingsport; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Wellington Place.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Randy Lantz officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
